Executive Director

Dr. Eppy Thern

As one of the founders, Eppy has been involved with Shiloh Place from the beginning. Having once been a single mom, she knew first hand the challenges many of these moms face. It was this experience and where she felt God’s calling, that lead her to working with Bob and Kelley Burgess, and eventually the birth of Shiloh Place. Eppy believes in collaboration. As such, she was part of a small group of non - profit organizations who came together through the Toyota Community Impact Grant, creating Collin County Mobility Collaborative (CCMC). She is currently the Chairman of the Board for CCMC, and Shiloh Place continues as a partner organization. Eppy holds a Doctor of Chiropractic from Northwestern Health Sciences University, a Bachelors of Science in Biochemistry from University of Minnesota, a Certificate in Nonprofit Management from SMU and CNMConnect, and various other non - profit certificates. She was also part of the inaugural class of the Collin County Nonprofit Leadership Institute. Originally from Michigan and Minnesota, Eppy has lived in Texas since 2014. While she occasionally misses the seasons in the Midwest, Texas holds her heart now. She lives in the country with her husband, and loves to spend time with her 3 adult children and their families. “God is the real leader of Shiloh Place. He has called us to be His hands and feet, His salt and light in our world.”
Case Manager

Cindy Tucker

Lucinda has served as a Case Manager for Shiloh Place since March of 2013. She is an alumni of Mississippi State University with a Degree and License in Social Work. Lucinda has worked in many settings over her career of more than 22 years. Lucinda’s focus is sincerely caring for and assisting those she serves. Lucinda enjoys music, spending time and taking trips with her family, glamping and riding ATV’s.
Development Director

Ashleigh Fanning

With a background in marketing and business development, Ashleigh found her true calling working in the non-profit world when she joined the Shiloh Place team in February of 2017. She is extremely passionate about sharing the mission of Shiloh Place with the community, fundraising, and cultivating donor relationships, making her position at Shiloh the perfect fit. Ashleigh graduated from Texas Tech University and resides in McKinney with her husband and two sons.

Yvonne's Booker

Yvonne has served in the non-profit community for more than twenty years. “Non-profit aligns perfectly with her servants’ heart. Within those years, she has served in multiple leadership roles and member of many supporting casts. In addition to her direct services roles, Yvonne has served on the boards of United Way of Metropolitan Dallas, Chair of the Texas Heath Community Impact Board, City of McKinney Community Block Grant Committee, City of McKinney Housing Authority Commission, and Job Corp Community Advisory Board.
Yvonne holds a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Sociology & Psychology with a minor in Education.
Originally, from North Carolina, Yvonne has lived in Texas for twenty –one years. She is a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Plano and is committed to serving God between Sundays.
Her favourite scripture “ For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11
Yvonne joined that Shiloh Place McKinney staff in February of 2020.

Simri Davis

Simri joined Shiloh Place in September 2018. She finds the work both challenging and rewarding as she walks alongside the staff, moms and their children. She enjoys serving those she works with and loves when she’s able to connect those in need with those in the community who can offer support.

Sequoyah

Sequoyah joined Shiloh Place in February 2019 and acclimated to the Shiloh culture. With experience working with volunteers and managing an office of a department, she is accustomed to engaging with members of the community. Surrounded by single moms and their families her entire life, Sequoyah believes in Shiloh Place and the work being done to help the lives of the families who enter. In her free time, she enjoys writing, reading and streaming.
Onsite Supervisor

Shamaine Howard

Shamaine has a deep passion for making sure Shiloh Place is a safe and welcoming environment for the mothers and children who live there. Her goal is to ensure residents adhere to the policies and procedures put in place for their wellbeing, by monitoring onsite activities after hours and on the weekends. She enjoys getting to know, and interacting with, the families during their time at Shiloh and has been a vital member of the team since August of 2015.

Daniel Brasch

Daniel has a heart for justice and the underserved and wants to see God glorified in Mckinneyand beyond. He loves the privilege of serving at Shiloh Place because of our efforts to do those things. He works as the property manager for Cornerstone Ranch, a special needs community in McKinney. Daniel enjoys hunting, being outside, and working on his home with his beautiful wife and two little girls.

Windy Gillen

Wendy Gillen is retired from Microsoft where she led their support business across North America for commercial customers. She is wife to George, a mother to three amazing daughters and grandmother to 8 awesome grandchildren. Her avocation has been to mentor women who are or have been offenders in the prison system who are committed but challenged to turn their life around. This commitment brought her to Shiloh Place precisely because the work here is transformational.
Secretary

Heather Peroyea

Heather is a Registered Nurse who graduated from UT Arlington. She worked for many years in critical care and in the pre-op/recovery settings. She, along with her husband John and their 2 boys, lived in Bolivia for one year serving a local orphanage. Upon moving back to the McKinney area, they joined Faith Bible Church and became the Missions Coordinators there. She is currently enjoying her time as a stay at home mom and keeps busy with her boys and volunteering at various local ministries.

Bob Burgess

Bob is President of Flair Data Systems, serving customers in N. Texas and Colorado. As a deacon in McKinney, Bob wanted a more effective and long term solution for homeless families. In 2013, he, wife Kelley, and Eppy Thern founded Shiloh Place. Bob's passion for this housing ministry is two-fold: giving single moms 2 years to study and learn a marketable skill and seeing them grow spiritually in Christ.

Kelly Burgess

Kelley is wife to Bob, the mother of 4 children, and a very active grandmother. She enjoys spending time in her garden and orchard. Her years spent as a foster parent and serving as a client advocate at a local pregnancy center led to much prayer and research on how best to serve single mothers. The process of having a vision become reality and seeing the moms flourish has been one of the highlights of her life.

Jan Barstad

Jan is a wife, mother of two and Nana to eight. Trained as an RN, she later turned her passion for floral design into a career as an event florist. She operates her own business here in McKinney. She has been involved in foster care, youth and college leadership and mentoring young women. Her desire is to serve a ministry that equips single moms to move out of poverty and homelessness into spiritual, personal and financial wholeness.

Sheila Miller

Sheila graduated from Howard Payne University with BA in Sociology/Psychology. She has several years of experience in the nonprofit arena as a volunteer manager, trainer and executive director. After retiring from Volunteer McKinney as the Executive Director for almost ten years, she took a very short retirement and accepted a part-time position at Habitat for Humanity. Sheila spent the past 4 years as Executive Director with Family Promise of Collin County serving homeless families with children. Beginning in 2020, she became the Ex. Director for 3e United
Sheila and her husband Rick have been married 47 years and have lived in McKinney for 14 years. They have two adult children and 4 grandchildren and both families live in McKinney.

April Woods

April has built a successful career working with leaders across multiple industries and platforms. Most recently, holding a position as COO for a General Partner organization which oversees and is responsible for multiple LLC’s and non-profits. She is blessed with an ability to listen and discern, revealing pathways that pivot individuals to an intentional purpose. Along with desiring to change the world. April is a single mother of two young men and sees them as her first priority for development and equipping. With all that she has going on, she has a clear understanding of “it takes a village” in both her business and personal life
